In back, olden days many researchers and philosophers believe that humans and other living creature are made of same element ie the composition of star and other galaxies is same as humans and other living creatures. A new survey on 150000 stars and galaxies showed that we share 97 percent of same atom with galaxies and stars. the elements of life appear to be more prevalent toward the galaxy's center.

The crutial elements of life

The crucial element of life called as building blocks of life are CHNOPS : carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorous, sulphur. And researchers found that these elements are found abundant in star the super novas. And they evaluated the abundance of the element through the method called spectroscopy. each element emits distinct wavelengths of light from within a star, and they measured the depth of the dark and bright patches in each star's light spectrum. And we humans have nitrogen in our DNA, calcium in our teeth and bones, and iron in our blood.

Observations are made with the APOGEE ( Apache point  Observatory Galactic Evolution Experiment) spectrograph on the 2.5m Sloan Foundation Telescope at Apache Point Observatory in New Mexico. This instrument looks in the near-infrared to reveal signatures of different elements in the atmospheres of stars. It helps us to find the history and structure of galaxies and the connections of humans with sky.

Humans are nearly 65% oxygen by mass but the oxygen is found less then 1% in universe. Mostly galaxies and stars are made of hydrogen and helium. The star which are present in the inner side of the galaxy are older. APOGEE has detected the presence of heavier element like oxygen in the inner part of galaxy. this indicates that these must be synthesis in earlier days.

what Big Bang theory says?

According to Big Bang theory, our universe was formed around 13 to 14 million years ago after a big explosion. At that time only lightest particles like hydrogen helium and lithium were present. The first star formed after big bang is approximately 50 times greater then our sun. And the elements are the matter that cannot be broken into simpler substance. Inside stars a process takes place called nucleosynthesis, which is basically the making of elements. so this is how other elements are formed. bigger the star faster they burn their fuel. The first stars burned their fuel quickly and were able to make only a few elements heavier than hydrogen and helium. When those stars went supernova and expelled the elements they had produced, they seeded the next generation of stars.

so, Are we really made of stardust ?

And the answer is YES, we are made of star dust, not only us all of the organism on universe made of star dust
